About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Shop Manager to oversee daily operations in our sheet metal fabrication shop. This role is ideal for someone who combines leadership ability with strong technical expertise—particularly in operating a CNC brake to produce high-quality roof flashings and custom sheet metal components.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day shop operations, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety standards are met
Operate and program CNC brake machines to fabricate roof flashings and sheet metal parts
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications accurately
Supervise, train, and support shop staff
Schedule workflow, prioritize jobs, and coordinate deadlines
Maintain equipment and ensure proper machine operation
Monitor material usage and inventory levels
Enforce workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
Troubleshoot fabrication or equipment issues as they arise
Qualifications
Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication and shop management
Strong hands-on experience with CNC brake machines (setup, programming, and operation)
Knowledge of roof flashing fabrication and custom metal forming
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Leadership and team management experience
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Commitment to quality workmanship and safety standards
Experience in roofing or construction-related metal fabrication
Familiarity with different metals (aluminum, steel, galvanized, etc.)
Previous experience managing production schedules and workflow
